Drs. Paul and Bonnie Ramsey were both raised in families that placed a high value on education. In establishing the WWAMI Commitment to Service Endowed Scholarship, they wish to honor this commitment to education. The Ramseys also recognize that, as the cost of education rises, the resultant debt may restrict career choices for graduates and may make attending medical school an unattainable goal for some. The Ramseys’ believe that diversity strengthens the student body and, in turn, deepens the compassionate care that the School’s graduates provide patients in the communities across our region. It is the Ramseys’ preference that this scholarship be awarded to underrepresented minority students who are committed to working with underserved patients in the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) region.
