Securities Donations
Make Your Generosity Do More
Would you like to maximize the impact of your giving? Making a gift of long-term appreciated securities may be the right option for you.
Giving securities, such as long-term appreciated stock, can offer several advantages over a cash gift.
- Donating appreciated stock directly is a convenient, effective way to support the UW Medicine program or department you care about most.
- Tax savings will result in a larger gift to UW Medicine than if you sold your shares and donated the proceeds.
- Charitable income tax deduction may be available.
To learn more about donating securities, see the UW’s guide to securities. Or talk to your financial advisor for tax advice.
