Dr. and Mrs. Andrew L. Turner
This scholarship was created to support Idaho medical students attending UW School of Medicine. It is hoped that these funds will assist students with limited financial resources pursue whatever career path in medicine seems appropriate for them, so that they can return to practice in Idaho or other rural and underserved areas of the northwest. Dr. Andrew Turner has been involved in medical education and residency training since 1997, through the WWAMI Medical Program. He is a board-certified psychologist and behavioral medicine faculty member at UWSOM. Judith Aaron Turner is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, and has worked in primary care and urgent care for over 30 years, mostly in rural areas. In creating this endowment, Dr. and Mrs. Turner took advantage of the Faculty-Staff-Retiree Campaign for Students, which will match their donation. Dr. and Mrs. Turner’s fund will provide need-based scholarship support to M.D. students from Idaho.
