Will and Beth Salstonstall
The Will and Beth Saltonstall Scholarship was established to provide scholarship support to medical students from WWAMI-Alaska. Will and Beth Saltonstall are both graduates of the UW School of Medicine and participated in the WWAMI program, where residents of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana or Idaho spend their first year of medical school in their home state. Beth Saltonstall M.D. ’91 completed her first year in the WWAMI-Montana program and Will Saltonstall M.D. ‘90 participated in the WWAMI-Alaska program. Both completed many of their required and elective clerkships at sites throughout the five-state region. The Saltonstalls met while providing health-care in Bethel, Alaska; they both now work for the Alaska Native medical Center in Anchorage.
The Saltonstalls believe in “paying it forward” and are committed to supporting educational opportunities — particularly for students from Alaska. They believe that finances shouldn’t be a barrier for a budding physician. They want to support students who have the drive and capability by providing them the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential.
Recipients will be WWAMI-Alaska students and selection shall be based on financial need.
