Dixie and Steve Wilson
Steve and Dixie Wilson began their relationship with UW Medicine in 2001 when Dixie joined the UW Friends of Alzheimer’s Research, a group dedicated to supporting the UW Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. The Wilsons’ involvement with UW Friends of Alzheimer’s Research was inspired by Dixie Wilson’s experience with Alzheimer’s disease in her family and the subsequent creation of a genetic family study that continues at the UW Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. A year after joining the group, Dixie took a leadership role as a board member, chaired the UW Friends of Alzheimer’s Research Petite Wine Auction benefiting the UW Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and established the Steven G. and Dixie Y. Wilson Endowment for the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
Dixie’s notable passion for supporting UW Medicine led to invitations to join both the UW Medicine Strategic Initiatives Committee in 2009 and the UW Medicine Scholarship and Student Support Committee in 2011. She accepted both and continues to provide her insight and support for these committees.
Dixie is a graduate of UW with a BA in Sociology while Steve is a graduate of Western Washington University with a BA in Business Administration.
