The Dr. Edward Fick Memorial Fund was created from an estate gift in 1963 by Nelle Mitchell Fick, in memory of her nephew, Albert Edward Mitchell, who lost his life in defense of his country at Dutch Harbor in 1942. This fund benefits School of Medicine students with financial need.
