Elizabeth Gunn, M.D. Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established by a number of donors in 1986 to honor Dr. Elizabeth Gunn, also known as Elizabeth Gunn McCain. Dr. Gunn served as public health officer of Okanogan County in the 1940s. Later she was a professor at the University of Washington, where she taught health. She maintained a private medical practice, from which she retired in the 1960s. When endowments are created by numerous people, as this one was, it is usually an indication of the great esteem in which the deceased individual was held by friends and family members.
