Henrietta Blueye Memorial Endowed Scholarship

EST. 2001

No letter required

The Henrietta Blueye Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 through family members’ bequest provisions. Henrietta Blueye, M.D. completed her medical degree at the University of Washington in 1976. She and her husband, Ron Trosper, moved to the East Coast so that she could begin a residency. Unfortunately, after a struggle with a recurrent cancer, she died in 1982.

Henrietta’s parents, Clarence and Dorothy Blueye — Seneca Indians — were extremely proud of their daughter and her academic success. To celebrate her short but exemplary life, they made a deferred gift to the UW School of Medicine. Upon their deaths, this scholarship began to assist students interested in serving Native American communities.
