The Family of Dr. Gregory Lane

Gregory W. Lane, M.D. was an officer in the Navy and an obstetrician, with a strong interest in travel and in his church. He and his first wife, Phyllis Clark Lane, also had a strong interest in student scholarship. With the help of financial planners at the University, they created an annuity that would, after their deaths, benefit the School of Medicine. When Dr. Lane passed away in August 2004 at the age of 92, the School created the Phyllis Clark Lane Endowed Scholarship, a source of perpetual funding for students at UW Medicine. Dr. Lane is survived by his second wife, Marlys Lane.
