With strong leadership from class representatives John H. (Jack) Pierce, M.D., and Raymond E. Vath, M.D., the Class of 1965 decided to reduce student debt load at the UW School of Medicine by increasing the number of scholarships available to medical students. To this end, the class decided to take advantage of the University of Washington’s Matching Gift Initiative program to leverage their generosity.

While this preference is in no way binding or exclusive, the representatives hope that medical students who are also children of School of Medicine alumni will be considered as potential scholarship recipients.
